claimtest.xyz and the $test token: a 2016 contract exists, the rest is unverified.

What the site says

  • $test is "Ethereum's oldest circulating testcoin", deployed 8 May 2016, "forgotten for a decade, claimed in full in 2026", with a fixed 10 billion supply (the site, read 25 Oct 2026).
  • Pages: a story, a "wrap" page to turn $test into a modern ERC-20 token, and a market chart.
  • It says it is built by the community and that the batch claimer and wrapper contracts were created by @0xzxch.

What we checked

  • CONFIRMED (Etherscan, 25 Oct 2026): the contract at 0x0428…bED1 is named "test", was compiled with Solidity v0.3.2 (a 2016-era compiler) and was created about 10 years and 169 days earlier, which matches May 2016.
  • Not checked: the wrapper and claimer contracts, the "100% claimed" figure, who @0xzxch is, where the token trades.

Cautions

  • "Claim" in a domain is also the pattern of drainer sites. Here the site states that the claim is finished. The risky step is "wrap": it asks your wallet to approve a contract.
  • No audit and no independent coverage found. Other tokens called TEST exist; do not mix them up.

Questions

Is claimtest.xyz an airdrop I can claim?

Per the site, no: it says the supply is fully claimed. Do not trust any page that says otherwise.

Is the $test token from 2016 real?

An old contract named "test" exists on Ethereum from about May 2016 (Etherscan, checked 25 Oct 2026). We did not verify the site's other claims.

Is claimtest.xyz safe?

We found no scam reports, but we also found no audit or independent coverage. Read the contract links on Etherscan yourself, use a fresh wallet, and read every signature before approving.

What does "wrap" do?

It converts the old token into a modern ERC-20 through a contract. That needs a transaction and gives that contract permission over your tokens.

This is research and safety guidance, not financial advice. Facts checked 25 October 2026.
